Qualification Overview
This Qualsafe Awards (QA) qualification educates Learners about health and safety in the workplace. It covers understanding risk assessment, identifying and controlling the risks from common workplace hazards, the legal requirements related to health and safety in the workplace and what to do in response to accidents and incidents at work.
Aim
The aim of the qualification is to enable Learners to develop their health and safety awareness. It helps the Learner to build an understanding of health and safety in the workplace and the role that everyone plays in maintaining a safe working environment.
Structure
This qualification comprises 1 mandatory unit with a total value of 1 credit and 10 guided learning hours (GLH)*. For further details on these full course specifications can be supplied upon request.*GLH are a guide to the estimated hours an average Learner would study to gain the unit. This does not have to be face-to-face instructional time and can include self-directed study at home, such as reading course hand outs and further self-study. The minimum contact teaching time for this qualification is 6 hours (1 day) excluding breaks.
Intended audience
This qualification is for all employees to raise their awareness of health and safety in the workplace.
